Katherine Heigl has opened up about growing up in "a the white bubble." The actress also discusses the impact that this realization has had on the way she raises adoptees who are multi-racial. In a recent "Firefly Lane", "Grey's Anatomy" as well as "Grey's Anatomy" actress Katherine Heigl shared that she didn't care about her complexion until she came across her adopted sister from South Korea. "I asked my sister, Meg, if she had been treated one way while going out with us parents, and another way when she went out by herself without them. Meg responded "Oh sure! Every all the time!" Heigl spoke to Parents about when she realized her ignorance. According to the actor, she was angry. But, she was determined to channel her anger into helping the girls she adopted. Heigl shares a son of 4 years with Josh Kelley, her husband for 13 years. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, and then Adalaide aged 8 who is now older and was Black in 2012.
